Basic Needs Resources

We know that when basic needs go unmet, students cannot learn and grow to their full potential. During our current COVID-19 crisis, needs for basics like food and clothing have grown. We are here and committed to helping our Chávez school families.

4J School District created a COVID-19 Crisis Wraparound Team that Chávez is proud to be a part of. The mission of this team is to care for and support families across the school district. If you have a need that you do not see addressed below please contact Ms. Angie, Family Resource Coordinator at 541-790-5389.

  • Our Weekend Food Bag Program is continued to be supported. Please contact Ms. Angie for more information if you would like to pick up a food bag every week.
  • Although our Chávez Clothes Closet is currently closed, we partner with Bags of Love to continue to help get clothing to families.  If you are in need please contact Ms. Angie and she will get an order into Bags of Love for you.
  • Lane County Public Health has a non-emergency COVID-19 Information Line: 541-682-1380. It is operated daily (including weekends) from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM. You can call in and talk about anything ranging from physical health symptoms (they have nurses on staff), to where to access food, to information on rent assistance, to whether you can launch a boat from certain sites during the pandemic.
  • Chávez School Social Worker, Ms. Shannon, is available as always for help and support.
